How many times did your younger self sit in the back seat of your parents’ car, held by traffic, and imagine the car would simply take off – flying over the trails of cars, waving to the people who stare at you astonishingly? As the world evolves and good ol’ traffic seems to persist, the need for creative, innovative solutions is growing. You can always take the light rail, bus, or bike – but how about some seriously ingenious, futuristic solutions, closer to what you had imagined in your parents’ car? Well, you’re not the only one who’s ahead of their time: Colugo is a promising Israeli startup that introduces the first eVTOL (say it with us: electric-powered, vertical take-off and landing) aircraft, with its AWT (adaptive wing technology), suitable for transporting passengers, cargo, and deliveries. We joined forces to make their startup into a brand.
The main challenge Colugo was facing is cultivating a brand mindset, beyond their product and abilities – from informative talk to value driven, from cool features to life changing technology, from becoming to being. Since Colugo’s CEO is ex-IDF and they bring military experience with tech expertise, one of their audiences is security and military. Other audiences are civilians, investors, and Colugo employees –
a variety that calls for an accurate yet comprehensive strategy that’ll give the brand enough space to grow multidimensionally. The positioning is ALL IN ONE, ONE IN ALL, while the brand essence is UNSTOPPABLE AVIATION. The brand vision is “Colugo strives to develop the future air mobility in order to release humanity from asphalt roads and traffic jams, and as a result create a cleaner and greener environment instead”.
The visual brand language includes a new logo that uses the letter O off Colugo in separate cuts, to present rapid movement in a sort of infinity effect. While the brand colors are mostly light, aside from graphite as leading color – the digital palette is bolder to match the level of contrast necessary for screens. It keeps the graphite as main color and uses bold purple and yellow for a memorable contrast. Our UIUX teams crafted a brand website that presents Colugo through abilities (applications), models and technology. It isn’t a commercial site – rather, it helps audiences understand what’s in it for them, how this amazing technology can change their lives, in different purposes and sectors. It honors the product and gives enough space for videos, photos and details on every model – to help you believe the unbelievable, just like you imagined, only way bigger.
